SUPER - ROYAL - FUNKY

the school had their first trunk-or-treats event. about 30 cars participated and handed out candy donations. i prefer going to these than have to go trick-or-treating door to door. it gets exhausting walking house to house to ring the doorbell. i had the Descendants costumes from ariana's birthday party. she wore audreys pink coronation dress to the schools event. we went to the church's trunk&treat on halloween night. this time donning evie's isle of the lost classic outfit. we needed 2 more parties to go to inorder to wear lonnies kimono and mals purple coronation gown again.

Halloween Twins

ariana is really beginning to look like her american girl doll Jade - same skin tone and hair. ariana had this costume planned for the longest time. the american girl true spirit. this is the outfit MyAG dolls come in the box. its discontinued since the dolls are dressed in a "beforever" outfit now. ariana's top, skirt and hat came from american girl store. the white denim jacket and boots are from gap. the doll comes with tan boots, but we switched it to match ariana's. only thing missing is the pink ribbon.

Fall Shorts

only in california can you wear shorts in the fall. the weather is cool in the mornings, then reaching almost 80 in the afternoon. immediately i had thought about these boucle shorts from janie & jack French voyage line. Originally to match a blazer from gap. we put this together the last minute - grabbing crop tights from hanna, tom hi-tops, gap fleece jacket. ariana says this is her "goth" outfit - probably the closest i will ever let her wear minus the makeup.

Target Style

ariana said all the girls loved her dress. it looks like something you would find at justice. when really this is a clearance one i found at target last month. i was hesitant to get it because its a size M 7-8. it actually fits perfectly, sad with no room left to wear as she grows. paired it with leggings and gap biker boots.

Monday Tea Collection

mondays were suppose to be a dress day since the class has music prep. now i have to take into consideration that ariana has colorguard (flag) afterschool, i'm not used to this. last week i put her in sandals, then dropped off another pair of shoes to change into. i completely forgot again after putting ariana in a tea collection (medina swing) dress with long leggings for the cool weather. last minute switch to toms houndstooth pair. check back how we do next monday.

Eastin Spirit

 

a tshirt order was put in for jogathon - a color for each grade. this year the kids could wear their spirit shirts/color on student assembly day. 5th grade color is purple. the class had their first art vistas lesson - 5A photography. the kids took 4 pictures of an object outside using a digital camera. the black & white photos will be displayed at gallery night in may.

Pumpkin Patch Tradition

going to the pumpkin patch with dad is a tradition. byron thought he was out of it since we went with friends afterschool last friday. but ariana wanted to keep up with tradition. this time shes big enough to do the wheelbarrow by herself. she found her perfect pumpkin, stem and all. plus 2 small additional ones. we havent carved one in years, though.

Mod Tuesday

this is a ponte mod shift dress from gap. it has been hanging in her closet new with tags for the longest time. the material is too thick to wear in the summer. the short sleeves wont work in the fall, unless you wear a long sleeve shirt underneath. todays weather of 60 deg in the morning and warming up to sunny 75 deg - was the perfect time to wear it. ariana chose to wear bright pink capri leggings instead of black. she isnt too fond on straight down dresses. altho they might be comfortable, ariana prefers to show off her waistline with a belt or more fitted style. my little fashionista.

Itik-Itik

the LIKHA filipino school of dance troupe were invited to perform at st. edwards church festival. both classes from oakland and union city. ariana now goes to the union city one, but misses all her friends from the oakland studio. her group performed Itik-itik (duck) dance - thus the yellow beaks on their heads.

Picture Perfect to Pumpkin Patch

the kids were all dressed up for picture day at the school. ariana wore her dress outfit from forever21 when we went backtoschool shopping. to get a free digital download, you get to pick the poses and background. one of the moms had this great idea to go for a photshoot at the pumpkin patch for her xmas cards. we went home first for a quick change to gap overalls with a tcp plaid shirt. ariana was shooting for the country girl farm look. i didnt take many pictures of her, as we'll do our annual tradition trip with dad next week. although i did play photographer with my slr, others had their iphone.

Shorts to School

these are ariana favorite shorts from zara. i really dont like her to wear "shorts" to school. last night we were trying to pick out an outfit to wear today. i had mentioned that the weather was going to be hot again. ariana reminded me "remember you said i can wear shorts next time its hot?" well, at the time i didnt think we were going to have another hot day. this time we paired it with a gap mermaid tank. just realized she had worn this as a tunic way back in 2012. wonder if it'll still fit next summer??

Corsica

one of my all time favorite gap line - Corsica (circa 2009). i was able to get my hands on this size 10 dress. today is the perfect time to wear these fall colors during our indian summer heatwave. ariana originally wore her favorite clarks sandals, then remembered she has colorguard after school. 

Exploratorium

with byrons schedule - 4 days on, 4 days off, we have to plan our weekends wisely. its actually united airlines family day held during fleet week. we use to go all the time, but the blue angels park in oakland not to disturb sfo traffic flow. the exploratorium is celebrating their Founders Day and admission is free. regularly tickets are $29 adults, $19 children. we went there last year and not able to go through the whole museum. we played tourist and took a bike-taxi to the restaurant afterwards. figured since we saved on admission, byron treated us in the city.

Run, Walk or Jog-a-Thon

the jog-a-thon is one of the schools biggest fundraiser bringing in over $30K. the school sold spiritwear tshirts, assigning a color to each grade. 5th grade is purple. ariana chose to wear the "straight outta eastin" custom shirt my loopie girlfriend made. since the track was made big to accomodate 150 kids per grade, each tally counted as 2. kudos especially to the 2 moms organizing this event down to color coordinating the grades. i have been busy helping with the tshirt orders and jogathon pledges. we practically "worked" at the school everyday for the past weeks, too bad we don't get paid. its all worth it for the kids in mind. at least we have a break until the see's candies in december.

Birthday Girl

Its official - my baby girl is double digits 10 years old. its like she grew up right before our eyes - really fast. she chose to wear this gap purple-lish embroidered dress to school. kuya went to work early so he could celebrate her birthday with us. it just so happens that he wore a plum-purple shirt as well. ariana picked to go to bk bistro - the only place that serves dim sum every night til 10:00. kuya even picked up the tab. i am one proud momma and truly blessed.
