i found this dress on sale at nordstrom during their anniversary - but only available in a size 14. my sister was able to alter it and fits her like a glove. you cant really see - but theres a dark tulle over the skirt and they sewed the seams using black thread. my sister used white thread making it look so much nicer.
congrats to mel & steven. the bride is the daughter of my best friend who is the Godmother (Ninang) to joshua. and mel was the flowergirl in our wedding june 1999.

we went shopping for back to school - either at h&m or forever21. frankly i cant recall what store we got things at lately. before i could tell you from gymboree vs gap - even down to the line name or even when i purchased it. all i know is it was on sale - just dont ask me how much $.

Back to School Dance

first back to school dance of the year. she likes to dress-up for them, even though they are held right after school. its a mix-n-match from 2 outfits. the skirt from a disney descendant line and top from a nordstrom set.

i had originally bought this top for me to wear in the summer. it ended up being a tad too small and i gave it to ariana. to go around the dress code, she wore a tank top underneath. it just didnt look right not off the shoulders.

its a baseball jersey i got in targets boys department. just to be prepared,  maybe something to wear when we go to a game (A's, giants or even a school game). i was making her name for the pe uniform. good thing i had extra black glitter iron-on enough for "morgan". love my cricut machine.

9/11 Remember

completely forgot it was 9-11, otherwise i wouldve have picked out a red-white-blue patriotic outfit. instead a cold shoulder tank. dont worry it passes the 2-finger rule shoulder rule not to get dress coded at school. think i got this at nordstrom rack, where one her friends found it at ross. want to hear a funny story? i was trying on a cold shoulder blouse for the first time. i couldnt figure out the sleeves and my arms went right through the hole, leaving it hanging under my arm. so ariana wore this top when we went to the mall. she did the same thing - wearing it like it was a ruffle around the tank, not knowing it was a cold shoulder. luckily she went to try on clothes and realized it.

this year the school is trying something different. depending on the students last names A-G yellow, H-O white, P-Z green. the cougar shirts were included in the spirit pack donation over $40. the girls ended up wearing converse chuckie-like shoes. arianas are actually levi's brand ones.

Picture Perfect

now she wears a plaid skirt outfit. you cant see it as school pictures only show the top and shoulders. your picture identification card is made for you right after you take it. ariana happens to text me where i instantly noticed "why are you looking to the side?" that is just too much "white" eye. the photographer posed her and told her to look at the light to the side. luckily there was time to do a retake - much better. smile x 2!

heres a collage of the past "first days of school" pictures. now that ariana is in the 7th grade - gone are the days of plaid skirts and dresses. here in our district, school usually doesnt start til a week of two before labor day. and even though its still summer, the weather is still cool in the mornings.
