We are the Champions!

the san francisco giants won their third world series against the kansas city royals. my sister immediately went to sports authority last night to grab the champions tshirts right off the press. they went to game 7, score 3-2 in the bottom of the 9th. the royals had 2 outs, and one would think we were one more out away from winning. wrong - the royals got to second base. up at bat the count was 3-2, i was like hurry up and end this because i dont think i could go thru this torture again. finally panda pablo sandoval caught the foul ball to win the world series. Go GIANTS !! theres the parade in the city on friday. most kids would rather go to their halloween costume parade at school, than the giants parade. plus its like a norm to them, winning 3 championship in 5 years.

Last Hot Day

Temps will hit 80 degrees - our one last day of warm weather before the storm comes in. ariana is wearing another jelly-the-pug dress. i already put the summer dresses away in the storage bins, where i keep jtp and mjc ones at the end of the closet. a boy in her class told another girl "i like all of ariana's dresses - they are very colorful." boys are giving my little fashionista compliments now. altho ariana always tells me that a teacher liked her outfit.

Guess Who - Afterschool?

The girls get to go home with us afterschool, since their mom has dr appt. the only catch - they have to walk. It's a tight squeeze to fit 3 boosters in my backseat. I'd have to wait awhile for school traffic to die down if I drive too. Actually I don't think the girls mind - as they were excited and too busy chatting on what they were going to play. Lalaloopsy, Barbie to American girl. It was cold in the morning as I dressed ariana in a long sleeved dress from gymboree (fall for autumn). 

Purrfectly Fabulous

Keeping up with my Black Fridays theme, I picked out something she could wear with black patent boots. this gymboree purrfectly fabulous dress fit the mold. This was the first Friday the girls helped out their 3rd grade teacher afterschool. 

Picture Day

ariana picked to wear this jelly-the-pug (maple jordan) dress for the fall school pictures. they just take from the shoulder-up shot pose, not showing the whole dress. we went to the hair salon on sunday, and i "instyled" it in the morning. this year there was the option of picking from 10 different backgrounds vs the traditional blue. i chose this orange/brown one, only because on the sample sheet they had a dark skin boy where it looked good against his skin tone. the dress been hanging in her closet for awhile, all the way at the end with matilda jane ones. i've been giving excuses either its too hot outside - to you can only wear it in the fall because of the colors. ariana had it all laid out - headband, necklace, leggings, etc. i pulled out these boots (size 2) not knowing they would go with a dress, compared to a pair of maryjanes. there were only 2 packages with 8x10's to choose from. i ended up getting package B for $49.

Woodland Friends

its fall all right - cool in the mornings and barely reaching 70 deg in the afternoon. ariana is wearing gymboree woodland friends (fall 2012) outfit. i need her to wear these fall skirts (size 7), as i doubt they will fit later. the bin of skirts is going down where i'll have to start stocking up for next year.

Giants Pennant

The SF Giants are in the world series. friday morning we went straight to sports authority for the "we own the pennant" shirt. Ariana wore it for PE prep. the first game of the series is on tuesday in kansas city.

NASA Open House

The NASA Ames Research Center hosted its first open house in 17 years. the steel skeleton on the hangar is left. we must have walked almost 5 miles.

Chevron

i'm going to try this black friday schedule, to make it easy to pick out an outfit on fridays. ariana picked out this dress at macys, when we went shopping for a bridal shower gift. who knows when was the last time we had shopped there??

Great Pumpkin Patch

with rain showers expected to hit the bay area soon and plans on the weekend, we decided to take ariana to the pumpkin patch (ardenwood fremont) after school. it wasnt crowded at all, where most arent even thinking about pumpkins & halloween yet. ariana changed into a gap denim shirt and jeans. good thing one of our friends passed down some clothes, because ariana didnt own a single pair of jeans. she doesnt care for them since they are too stiff or uncomfortable. these - were all soft and broken in. ariana wanted to wear boots, and the 2 brown pairs (size 1) that she had no longer fit her. altho the gymbo pair of red cowboy boots do. gymboree usually sells these boots in the summer with their 4th of july line. i grabbed them on sale - now who wears boots in 90 degree california weather?? ariana did wear them for square dancing (PE) last year. byron was skeptical that these boots were "too pretty" to the pumpkin patch. i told him to let her wear them, since they wont fit her much longer. hee-haw!

Go Giants

I picked the right shirt for Ariana to wear on PE prep day. The SF giants won the nlcs, and headed to the World Series next week vs Kansas City royals. It was tied 3-3 bottom of the 9th, capped off by a three-run game-winning home run by left fielder Travis Ishikawa. The Giants previously won the title in 2010 and 2012.

Green & Navy

i am letting ariana pick out her outfit the night before. i tell her the weather forecast. even though her wardrobe closet is seasonal, there is no way she could pick a summer tank dress in the middle of fall. its going to be a partly cloudy day up to 70 deg. she chose this gap green & navy ponte dress, the line is pool priorities spring 2014. gap did away with line names this summer, unlike gymboree. thats how i title most of the blog posts. i had found these suede shoes at gap from another line. perfect match. the only thing - the color of the dress is actually a kelly primary green. i tried taking pictures inside, outside, flash, no flash - and they came out this shade. too bad because the green & navy is a nice combo.

Maxi Skirt

with the days getting cooler (hoping for possible showers this week), ariana picked out this maxi skirt. she received "i like your skirt" compliments from 7 classmates, one coming from a boy. even a couple teachers really liked it. i had thought i bought it online from zulily.com, come to find out - its from Justice (size 7).

Purple Bobs

ariana foot skipped size 1-1/2 and went straight to size 2. these are her new Bobs, similar to Toms. matched them with a hanna andersson dress tunic & leggings.

BFF Birthday Bistro

at the last minute night, we put together a late birthday celebration for ariana and her bff's. we took the girls to the american girl store right after school. this time eating at the counter - and seats for the dolls too. ariana had jade all dressed up, and N brought hers (madame alexander). glad i took cecile along for C. the girls ordered themselves all getting the same thing - bowtie pasta, french fries and pink lemonade. topped it off with vanilla ice cream cones & rainbow sprinkles. they gave ariana cupcakes from the tea time party menu. the girls had time to walk around the store and play with the dolls in the playsets. happy birthday ARIANA! we hope you, the bff's and dolls had a great time.

Ever After High

this is ariana birthday dress. she couldnt wear it last friday on jogathon, sunday was filipino dance practice, and monday was PE. she picked this PINK ever after high dress at target.

Bye Birthday Elf

not sure - but we think santa grants the elf to spend 24-48 hours to spend your birthday. Both of them left notes for Ariana when she came home afterschool and some birthday/parting gifts. The new Halloween mini lalaloopsy and a shopkins pack. Ariana took Emma's departure pretty well knowing she'll return on Thanksgiving next month.

Happy Birthday 9

Emma (the elf) is back - as a birthday tradition. She reappeared in a cupcake outfit. Now it's where you invite your elf back (via Santa) to celebrate the birthday. What will they think of next?? Ariana woke up 4:00 am while dad was getting dressed for work. She got out of bed to check -  SURPRISE there was Emma in the dollhouse. we have likha filipino dance rehearsal today - brought mamon sponge cakes to celebrate. originally ariana picked cpk california pizza kitchen, come to find out that they closed the one in palo alto. ended up celebrating at cheesecake factory on university ave.

Elf on shelf birthday tradition: the story instructs the child to send an invitation to their elf so s/he can get permission from santa to spend the childs birthday with them. on the night before the birthday, the child sets out the elfs special birthday outfit. santa blows his magic birthday dust on the elf so s/he can attend and show up the next morning. since elves are so tiny, they cant bring a gift. they do a north pole tradition instead. the elf will pick a special chair and decorate it, whether it be using things in the house. then when the day is done, s/he flies back to santa (or stays if birthday is in december).

Tea Party

It's my nieces bridal shower - a tea party with cookies & finger sandwiches. Ariana was the only girl and they made heart shaped p&b sandwiches especially for her. Except one thing - she doesn't eat sandwiches. We missed out on the little luncheon and made it in time for the opening of gifts. the brides wedding color is red-orange persimmon, this jelly the pug sassy dress was the closest thing she had.
