every friday its spirit day at school. the school is divided into 3 groups by their last names, and assigned a colored shirt (yellow, white, black). no cat ears today - instead a headband bow she got at the anime expo.

Little Twin Stars

ariana gets a sanrio loot crate delivered every 3 months. the theme was little twin stars.

School Pics

8th grade school fall pictures. we always order an 8x10 because that was the frame size at my moms house. now i put the frame on the piano, and keep past ones in a photo album. i ended up with the cheapest-no-so-cheap package available. if i order other ones and add 8 x10 - it actually ends up costing more. ariana picked out her sunflower dress from h&m. its-actually suppose to be a cutout in the back, and we brought it to the front as a choker. SMILE!

Beau Fleur

means "beautiful flower" in french. the top came from H&M, with high-waisted black jeans from Hollister. went back to her old pair of adidas superstars. after school the girls were treated to baskin robbins 31 - $1.50 a scoop on the months with 31 days.

BTS Backpack

This was suppose to be the first day back to school outfit. but when ariana found out it was a minimum half day and to wear the web leader tshirt - she saved this forever21 dress for today.  the new backpack was bought in hawaii and has the matching lunch bag.

8th Grader Bringing Preppy Back

The day has come - she is officially an 8th grader and will graduate in june. at first the plan was the WEB tshirt with some jeans. Ariana is a WEB leader - a program to welcome and support 6th graders to middle school.  then picked her outfit - a blacl pleated skirt bought at H&M when we were in Paris. the top is probably from h&m or forever21. the new shoes for school this year are Vans skate shoes. She got a lot of compliments on her outfit though, mostly coming from teachers. one girlfriend said "you put all the other bts outfits to shame".

...is now ending.  this is in chicago-ohare airport. if you land in the C concourse, you have to walk through this to get the B concourse for baggage claim and to get out. it was a rare moment where hardly anybody was on it, perhaps we were one of the last flights landing in the C gates. it looks like the paint sample cards in the hardware store. to be comfortable on the flight, shes wearing a knit sunflower print dress from h&m.

Wax Museum

5 - 4 - 3 - 2 - 1... "I am JANET JACKSON" 7th grade core class project where you read an auto/biography book of a famous person. then recite a 2 minute summary and dress up. Ariana chose to read the book True You, Janet Jackson.  

Hat - purchased it from Nordstrom last chance in Arizona to wear. for the 1814 pin - cut out a piece of cardboard, wrapped it in foil, then filled in the negatives with a black sharpie.

Shoes - boots from DSW. Pants - leggings in her closet.

Earrings -  silver hoop earrings. used a spare key from Lola's house. again made 1814 on cardboard wrapped in foil and sharpied it.

Gloves - moms pair of black leather Coach gloves.

Jacket - originally planned on buying a leather jacket. ended up using a moto jacket. sewed some scrapbooking embellishments on backward. ordered the 1814 pin from etsy online.

Hollywood star - 2 black poster boards taped together. red embossed scrapbooking paper pieced together to make the star. lettering and logo made using the cricut machine.

Microphone. took a build-a-bear button and recorded the intro "5,4,3,2,1...". taped it on top of mic.

Filipino Warriors

arianas ninong took me to the warriors game for my birthday gift. it was filipino heritage night. we had the voucher for the "mabuhay" tshirt giveaway. plus another shirt from tanduay rum sponsor. this hoodie was a special at the team store. the weather caught us off guard this morning - and i ended up giving the hoodie for ariana to wear.

Cat Beanie

instead of cat ears headband - what about cat ear beanie. worn with a crop sweater from forever21. favorite jeans from garage, and fur boots (costco kirkland brand).

Valentines Hearts

none of the usual valentines day red, ariana chose to wear a pink velour top. accessorized with pompom headband and choker. no cards this year either. we made felt cookies with the cricut machine for her bff girlfriends. bagged them with real heart shaped ones to eat.

after getting all the required documents and appointment, she received her passport today. it is now official and has the "ticket" to travel the world.

Ice Cream Museum

another Instagram friendly pop-up exhibition similar to Color Factory. tickets went on sale in september 2017, and kuya was able to get tickets on a weekend for all of us go together. 

Couture Korea

to the san francisco asian art museum - the year of the dog. since ariana wants to be a fashion designer, we thought she might enjoy the korean exhibit.

Blackball Boba

a new boba place opened up in UC. ube is my favorite flavor drink. ariana actually likes the mochi toppings from here.

Puffy Pink

weather is still a little cooler and taking photo inside. in her closet, you will see about 10 long sleeved tops in different colors of pink - pastel, mauve, rose gold, etc. ariana is wearing a mauve sweater top. good thing she has puffy ball headband thats the perfect match.

LA Sweat

the girls (4 bff) went to the mall together by themselves for the first time. they picked out something for each other. how fun is that to do on a first shopping trip. ariana is wearing her los angeles sweatshirt. the other girls got a striped sweater, watermelon shirt, black los angeles top. did a little roman goddess to the ponytail with a gold shoelace.

Chokered Out

these tops are making a come back - where they add a choker strip across the neckline. i wore these way back in the 1970s. ariana put her hair in puffy ponytails like nozomi tojo, along with her trademark cat ears.

ariana went to the mall with her girlfriend last weekend. and this is what she picked out for herself with her own money. plus it was on sale. TGIF

Ritas Gelati

its never too cold for frozen custard ice cream. this time ariana picked a mango gelati.

LOVE Sequin

the heart is one of those where you could go over the sequins in one direction, then flip the other way to reveal a different color. i always see them in the store as a pillow - i think it would be very calming and mesmerizing to have. i did mention that if somebody wants to see the transition - for her to do the reveal. worn with a pair of mesh sweats from Garage.
